The Harrower

The Harrower is summoned by a player who has collected all 8 Champion Idols in a Tome of the Harrower.

The Tome of the Harrower

  • Crafted by a grandmaster scribe: Inscription 100, 3 Books of Lost Knowledge.
  • Double-click it (in your backpack) to open the idol map. Click an idol's spot to add the matching Champion Idol from your backpack. Each idol added gives 5,000 monthly ranking points.

Summoning

When all 8 idols are in, the gate in the middle of the map lights up. Click it and confirm:

  • A gate to the Harrower's Lair opens at your feet and the Tome is consumed.
  • Only one Harrower gate can exist at a time.
  • You can't do it on Chaos Island.

Private hour: for 60 minutes, only you, your party and your guild can enter. The gate shows who summoned it and how long it stays private.

The invasion

If the Harrower is still alive when the private hour ends, it invades:

  • A server-wide broadcast announces it.
  • It moves to the Chaos Shrine and heals to full.
  • Gates to Chaos Island open at Britain bank and in the lair.
  • From then on, anyone can fight it.

A Harrower below 5% HP when the hour ends stays in its lair instead.

The fight

Ability Effect
Tentacles Every 30 s it spawns a giant tentacle near a random player within 15 tiles (max 25). Tentacles have a damage aura, reflect spells (10%, 20% from creatures) and heal the Harrower for the melee damage they deal. They die with it.
Corpse explosion Every 12.5 s, every fresh corpse within 15 tiles explodes for 25–35 damage to players and pets within 3 tiles.
Expunge Every 10–20 s while it's taking damage. Every 3rd Expunge sets off the blood pools around it.
Sickness About once a minute it "feels sick" and, 2 seconds later, fires rays in every direction.
Melee Its hits can poison (Deadly, 10%), apply a damage-over-time (10%), spit sand and trigger corpse explosion or blast radius.
Reflect 10% chance to reflect spells.
Targeting Switches to a random target within 8 tiles every 10–20 s.

It also uses the shared dungeon-boss mechanics (minion waves and group scaling, see Special Bosses).

Rewards

The Harrower uses the shared boss rewards with the largest Void Skull table in the game (12 special, 15 runic, 12 imbuing, 8 orb, 8 mage scroll skulls and more, including PvM rune skulls).

Its corpse also always holds:

  • an Item Blessing Deed
  • one Harrower armor piece (gloves, helm, arms, legs, chest or gorget)
  • a scaled runic sewing kit or an azurite runic hammer
  • 3 moonstones, 3 bags of sending and 3 high-end runic Void Skulls
  • a hued item

And sometimes:

Chance Drop
15% an epic reward: Doom pet egg, daemon statue, Wildfire robe or cloak, Inferni skin dye
15% an epic-hued item
10% a Bloodstained Shroud, a rare skin dye and a Zombified or Ashen creature egg
