Invasions

An invasion is a server-wide event: an army of themed monsters attacks a region in 10 waves, ending with a boss. Everyone who helps earns rewards.

How an invasion starts

The server builds up seasonal invasion points. When they reach 100, the season's invasion begins in its target region (theme and region set by staff).

Source Seasonal points
Completing a daily quest 0.5 (easy) / 1 (medium) / 2 (hard)
Completing a weekly task 1
Completing a global quest 2
Killing a Legendary Loot Goblin 1
Seasonal event items (Halloween, Easter, event vendor) 1
Monster kills during some seasonal events (Crimson Courtship) 0.02–1 by monster strength

Points don't build up while an invasion is running. The invasion controller shows the current progress.

When it starts, there's a server broadcast and a Discord message, and a gate opens in Britain. Murderers can't use the gate.

Waves

  • The invasion spawns its army over 9 waves, getting harder as it goes:
Waves Easy Medium Hard monsters
First third 70% 30% —
Middle third 25% 50% 25%
Last third 20% 30% 50%
  • The next wave comes once only a handful of monsters are left (checked every 30 seconds).
  • Wave 10 is the boss. The invasion is won once the boss falls with 10 or fewer monsters left. Use [Invasion to see the leaderboard.
  • In guarded towns, invasion monsters are immune to guards.

Invasion score

You score for every invasion monster that dies while you have looting rights on it and are within 30 tiles. Your pets' damage counts.

Monster Score
Mini-boss or stronger 50 (×3 after the boss has appeared)
Abomination 30
Legendary 25
Elite 20
Hard 15
Medium 10
Easy 5
Weaker 1–2

Everyone who scores shares the credit, so a group effort pays everyone.

Rewards

When the invasion is defeated, every participant gets (dividers set by staff):

  • Event points, Monthly Challenge points and Achievement Points, all based on your score.
  • A special-hued item in your bank if your score is at least 25% of the median participant's score.

The top 3 are announced to the server.

Invasion loot

Each theme has a limited stock of special items for the whole invasion. When an invasion monster dies, the top damager may receive one:

  • Rare, medium and common items each have their own chance (set by staff).
  • Chances are low in early waves (10% of the normal chance at wave 1) and reach full strength by the last wave.
  • Once an item's stock runs out, it can't drop again that invasion.

Invasion zones

Inside an invasion zone you don't lose items when you die. Recall, Gate Travel, Sacred Journey and Mark don't work there.
